Derwent’s electric eraser is widely recognised as a useful tool when working with both graphite and coloured pencils, providing fast and precise removal of shading, for example, when recreating glare. The eraser is also handy when making very fine adjustments to your pieces, without damaging or abrasing the paper.
The new rechargeable version of the device includes several improvements, the most significant being its long-lasting lithium-ion battery, with a 500 mAh capacity with a charging indicator, which can be charged using the USB cable included in the box.
The set includes 20 eraser refills: 10 with a diameter of 5mm and, 10 with a diameter of 2.4mm for extra fine details, like those necessary for drawing realistic hair in a portrait.
All this comes in a lightweight and ergonomic plastic body, curved at an angle so as to be suitable for both left, and right-handed artists.
The eraser works in a circular motion, allowing for clean and undisturbed erased lines, since the small function remains in the on position until pressed again, allowing for free movement during use.
If you are looking for an even smaller point of contact you could use sandpaper for sharpening pencils to give the cylindrical erasers a conical shape allowing for even finer adjustments.
Packets of eraser refills are also available to purchase separately, but only with a diameter of 5mm. Unfortunately at this moment, Derwent does not offer refills of the extra fine erasers with a diameter of 2.4mm.
