Almost every week, we receive one to four pallets of merchandise, which we use to restock our small warehouse next to the Sofia store.
Opening Packages
The products arrive in sturdy plastic shipping boxes that we reuse. They protect the products in all weather conditions, save space when empty (since they can be folded or nested inside one another), and eliminate the waste from hundreds of large cardboard boxes that we would otherwise use.
We open the boxes one by one so that we can gradually organize and inventory their contents in our small storage area beneath the retail space. To ensure maximum efficiency , we’ve divided the floor into zones, where each item has a specific place.
Tracking Quantities
We use the numbered zones as a guide when stocking the retail space with merchandise. Our system accurately tracks the number of items sold that we need to restock. We pack the items into crates, which we load into our elevator and transport to the floor using carts (our regular customers are familiar with the noise their wheels make 🙂).
When we are in the process of restocking new inventory, we always check for any items that haven’t been added to the inventory upon receiving a customer inquiry.
