Just like with painting paints, the colors of seal wax can be combined to produce new, mixed shades.
- Adding white wax to a darker color in the melting spoon softens the tone for pastel shades like mint, candy pink, or light gray.

- A uniform new color: When the molten mixture is thoroughly stirred, a pure and even new shade is produced.
- Marble effect: With minimal stirring, the colors do not blend completely but create natural gradients and veins on the finished print.

- Subtle Shimmer: Combining a small amount of metallic wax (gold, silver, bronze) with a rich color creates a subtle pearlescent sheen.
The color purple is produced by the following combinations:
- Dark purple (like the rose print): Achieved by mixing the dark red and turquoise (blue-green) sticks. The blue pigment in turquoise reacts with the red pigment to create a rich purple hue.
- Light Purple / Lilac: Obtained by combining the rose ash wand with a little white or silver (or with a tiny drop from the turquoise wand).
