The Rosa Gallery watercolor palette now includes 99 colors with the addition of 9 new shades.
The new recruits are divided into three groups:
1. Granular Colors: Texture and Layering
These five shades are characterized by the physical separation of the pigments upon application. The particles settle into the texture of the paper, creating a natural sense of depth.
795 Nightfall Orange: A super-granulated color. When applied thickly, it appears orange-brown, but when thinned, it reveals a distinct blue undertone. Suitable for recreating the look of old brick, roof tiles, and rust.
796 Nightfall Azure: A deep azure blue. Upon contact with more water, it blends into earthy and olive tones. It can be useful for depicting ocean depths and damp rocks.
790 Olive Oxide Gray: An earthy color for recreating moss, tree bark, and weathered concrete. It reveals delicate silvery-gray undertones.
798 Ultramarine Gray: A cool, steely shade evoking stormy skies and misty mountains. It creates a sense of aerial perspective.
2. Atmospheric Shades: Ash and Matte Tones
A set of 3 colors with a soft, matte texture and high coverage, designed for subtle transitions and backgrounds.
793 Pale Rose & 794 Lilac Pale: Shades for depicting distant horizons, the morning sky, and soft shadows in portraits.
797 Deep Rose Quartz (Rose Quartz Deep): A warm shade that, when blended, reveals pastel pink and olive undertones. Perfect for the “golden hour” at sunset.
3. Basic Colors: Contrast and Light
Two classic pigments for creating dramatic eyeshadow looks and soft highlights.
791 Van Dyke Brown: A rich, warm brown color with a golden undertone when blended: for architectural elements or animal fur.
792 Titanium Buff: A creamy, opaque shade. An alternative to white paper for depicting sand, sea foam, and sun glints.
