The exterior, made of classic brown kraft cardboard, provides a good base for customization. Here are a few ways a shipping box can take on a unique, handcrafted look:
Linocut and stamps: A print made from a hand-carved linoleum or rubber stamp using ink gives the packaging an authentic and distinctive look.
Embroidery on cardboard: Using an awl or a thick needle and colored yarn or raffia you can embroider a minimalist motif or a small detail in one of the corners.
Stenciling (Stenciling): Using a stencil with acrylic paint or texture paste creates clean, repeatable designs or raised logos. We offer a transparent sheetfrom which you can easily cut out a stencil with scalpel.
Drawing with markers: Solid white or metallic markers (such as Posca and Copic Acrea) stand out against the brown cardstock. They’re great for drawing thematic elements (snowflakes, flowers) or adding dotted lines that mimic stitching along the edges.

How did these boxes end up in Slanchogled?
It all started with the need for sturdy packaging for the store’s online shipments. Since the bookbinding knife and the die-cutting machine were already in use in the workshop for the sketchbooks, all we needed was some good corrugated cardboard. The boxes turned out to be so sturdy that, naturally, they found a place here as well—ready to safely protect every handmade item on its way to the end customer.
