We’re sharing ideas for spring brooches or martenitsas.
The creator of these small textile paintings, in which every thread is carefully placed, is Vili from vilka.co.uk.
In them, she combines two techniques:
- The fluffy base of the little house, the voluminous heart, and the colorful petals were created using dry felting (needle felting)—a process in which unspun wool is “sculpted” stitch by stitch using a special serrated needle.
- To bring the drawing fully to life, Vili adds the fine details by sewing with yarn. The green sprigs and leaves are embroidered with a large-eyed needle.
