An commitment to environmental sustainability can be reflected in the way products are packaged, in their ingredients, or in their manufacturing process.
Stewo
For example, Stewo (Switzerland) replaced the plastic spools in its new ribbon series with paper ones:
They also offer packaging designs made from cellulose derived from grass (straw) and reed fibers, rather than wood. Producing paper from grass saves electricity and water, and sugarcane pulp makes use of waste from the sugar industry.
The advantages of grass paper:
- Its production requires 97% less energy and
- 99% less water
- The process produces up to 75% fewer harmful emissions
- processed without chemicals
- short transportation distances.
The advantages of reed paper:
- does not contain bleaching agents or dyes
- The production cycle is only 13 months
- does not contain wood
- recyclable
- made from waste products
- Available year-round.
The manufacturer also encourages the reuse of its luxury gift bags and boxes.
Royal Talens
Perhaps the most famous product with a pronounced ecological focus from Royal Talens (Netherlands) is their water-mixable oil paints Cobra Artist and Study . The new generation of oil paints is diluted and cleaned with only water, protecting health and saving space in the artist’s studio.
Meanwhile, the manufacturer is striving to reduce its electricity consumption by 2% per year, a portion of which is generated by solar panels. Another goal along the same lines is to replace its vehicles with electric and hybrid models by the end of 2024.
Knorr Prandell Creative
In line with the EU ban on PET plastic glitter , the German brand Knorr Prandell Creative (KPC) has discontinued production of those glittery products that break down into microplastics once discarded. These include , for example ,our glitter glues, which we are offering while supplies last.
