A canvas stretched on a stretcher with a depth of 4 cm (twice as deep as the standard 2 cm), which adds a three-dimensional quality to the finished artwork. The canvas is secured to the back of the stretcher, keeping the side edges clean (an important detail when working with the pouring technique) and allowing the artwork to be displayed without an outer frame.
The canvases from Talens’ 3D Art Creation series retain their shape both during application of the paint and after drying, without warping or wrinkling, and are a suitable surface for painting with oil and acrylic paints .
On the fine-textured cotton canvas with a weight of 260 gsm (21.5 x 19.5 threads per cm²), a single coat of natural-origin adhesive and two coats of acid-free acrylic-based gesso have been applied, ensuring excellent adhesion of the paints to the surface and control during application.
The canvas is stretched over a sturdy wooden stretcher frame with two crossed crossbars made of FSC-certified wood.
