Talens 117 Acrylic Paint Medium makes the paint more fluid and transparent without compromising its adhesion and drying properties or its color vibrancy.
Adding just water often compromises the integrity of the acrylic formula, causing it to separate into droplets, and the pigments usually begin to separate.
The thinnings dilute acrylic paints but do not alter their ability to adhere to the canvas or the previous layer of paint, since they contain an acrylic binder.
This makes it suitable for glazing techniques, in which a layer of translucent paint is applied over a base of a different shade to create an optical blending of colors.
