Made almost entirely from linseed or safflower oil and finely ground pigment, Rembrandt oil paints are the result of a combination of traditional paint-making expertise and modern technology, making them synonymous with the highest artistic quality.
Rembrandt paints are characterized by their medium viscosity and oil content, unlike other, thicker professional paints, which makes them ideal for use straight from the tube, without the need for initial additives to soften or thin them.
The colors blend with minimal effort, thanks to the exceptionally fine pigment particles, and remain vivid and rich at all levels of opacity, drying to a semi-gloss finish.
Rembrandt’s diverse catalog, consisting of 120 colors with maximum lightfastness, stands out from the rest with its balanced selection of translucent tones, which can be used to add a hint of color to opaque tones through glazing, and to partially or completely nuance a finished monochromatic layer.
