Features and Operation:
- Flat base: The bottom surface is smoothly polished. The plate fits snugly and produces a clean impression right up to the edge, without wobbling under pressure.
- Solid beech wood: Withstands prolonged pressure without cracking or warping over time.
- Spherical handle: The turned top fits directly into the palm and directs pressure straight down for an even impression.
- Mounting the plate: Using double-sided mounting tape, microporous rubber, or contact adhesive.
- Maintenance: Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Excessive wetting with water can cause the wood to swell and warp, and treatment with acetone or strong solvents may damage the smooth surface and compromise the plate’s adhesion.
Making Your Own Linoleum Print:
- Preparation and Mirror Design: The selected image is transferred in mirror image onto the linoleum, adjusted to fit the base area (60 x 30 mm).
- Engraving: Outlining the fine details with a V-shaped cutter and removing the background areas with U-shaped knives.
- Test print: A test print is made using an ink pad to verify the details before final installation.
- Installation and Adhesion: For a softer and more even impression, it is recommended to add a thin layer of EVA foam (1–2 mm) between the wood and the linoleum, secured with strong adhesive or double-sided tape.
