Cobra’s odorless matte spray varnish provides a high-quality, long-lasting matte finish for oil paintings, offering protection against environmental factors and delivering an even finish, guaranteed durability, and uncompromised transparency.
Made from synthetic resins and white spirit, the spray adheres well to the oil layer but can still be dissolved and removed, even years later.
To seal the porous surface of an oil painting, the paint must be fully dry —that is, you must wait at least 9 months to a year after it is completed.
It is particularly well-suited for impasto paintings, minimizing glare on those exposed to direct sunlight.
Directions for use:
- After shaking well, apply the varnish in a thin coat from a distance of about 40 cm, preferably outdoors or in a well-ventilated room at room temperature.
- To achieve this, it is recommended to spray in even strokes, completely parallel to the surface of the painting, in two crisscrossing layers (vertical and horizontal).
- It dries in a few hours, and if necessary, it can be removed with rubbing alcohol.
