A set of 12 oil-based Derwent colouring pencils
The new series of lightfast pencils from the British pencil manufacturer Derwent has 100% lightfastness and the colours of illustrations, drawn with them will remain unchanged for at least 100 years under museum conditions, which makes them suitable for professional artists.
Lightfast is the first oil-based series of pencils from the Derwent lineup. With the core’s soft pastel-like consistency, they are very pleasant to work with.
The thick 4 mm core ensures an even, intense colour coverage, which makes the drawings look “alive”, the soft texture allows for blending and layering colours.
A durable core makes it possible for the tip to be sharpened to a fine point, giving the artist a tool for detailed drawing, which makes them popular for portraits.
The Derwent Lightfast pencils can be dissolved with turpentine to achieve a picturesque effect.
