A large block of high-quality white chalk offering a variety of options for dry and wet drawing and for quickly creating expressive sketches on large formats.
Dervent’s XL cubes, measuring 2 x 2 x 6 cm, are a highly interactive medium and ideal for drawing with bold strokes, creating textures directly on the paper, and smudging with your fingers, a paper pencil or an eraser.
When wet , the stick turns into a watercolor stick— the naturally water-soluble pigment easily saturates the wet brush with color.
Wet painting has the advantage that the pigment particles adhere slightly better to the paper. However, to ensure better protection against smudging, you can always use a spray fixative.
Rich and intense, the white stands out against various shades of paper and other colors of charcoal and chalk, without changing color over time.
It complements perfectly with Derwent’s Tinted Charcoal colored pencils , which can be used to add precise details.
The XL blocks are delicate and fragile, but Their size makes them more difficult to break.
Here they are, in action.
