Elefantenhaut large-format cream-colored paper, known for its resistance to creasing, scratching, and staining—and , last but not least, its classic marbled pattern.
Treated using a special process, it can even be cleaned and is suitable for laser, inkjet, and thermal printing, as well as UV varnishing, embossing, and perforation.
The paper’s properties make it particularly well-suited for creating durable or frequently used items such as menus, business cards, vouchers, receipts, brochures, tags, book covers, invitations, letters, greeting cards, and packaging.
The name “Elefantenhaut” comes from German and means “elephant skin,” hinting at the durability of the paper, which began to be produced in Germany as early as the 1950s. The paper’s coloring, which imitates parchment, is characteristic of that era.
For origami enthusiasts, Elefantenhaut can be useful for creating volume, wet folding, and making modules and tessellations. Since it can withstand repeated folding, it is ideal for practice.
It is also available in a darker beige color, in A4 and 50 x 70 cm sizes, as well as in a heavier 190 gsm version.
