HIMI’s gel gouache uses peach tree resin as a binder. Like gum arabic, it is completely water-soluble and can be reactivated with water after it dries.
To keep the paints moist while painting, spray them with Himi spray or just water about every 2 hours while painting.
For best results, load the wet brush with paint directly from the pans, then thin it on a palette or stiff cardboard and apply it to the artwork. To achieve even, solid lines, work with almost no water.
At the end of the session, the bottles are sprayed again with Himi spray and sealed tightly to prevent the water from evaporating.

- The tight-fitting lid keeps the paints fresh for longer.
- The drying of the paints is a natural process because the surface area from which the water evaporates is larger than the opening of the tube. However, this does not affect their quality; they can be reactivated by adding a small amount of water. A small pump that sprays water while you work keeps them moist.
- The paints are non-toxic. The binder used is peach tree resin: a natural, hardened resin that is extracted from the bark of peach trees (Prunus persica). Similar to gum arabic (which comes from acacia trees), peach tree resin is completely water-soluble and, once dried, can be reactivated with water. In China, this resin has a long history of use not only in traditional medicine and cooking (where it is valued for its collagen content) but also in traditional arts as a binder for inks and paints.
- The paint is applied in thin, even layers: The key to working with gouache without cracking is to forget the techniques used in acrylic and oil painting. Think of it as a thick, opaque watercolor rather than a paste-like paint. When applying a new layer over a dried one, work quickly and with confident strokes. If we rub with the brush, we risk “disturbing” the underlying layer and mixing the two, creating a thicker, uneven mass of paint that is prone to cracking. Gouache achieves its opacity even with a thin layer. Apply one thin layer, let it dry completely, and if necessary, apply a second thin layer on top.
- These are student- or hobby-grade paints and are not lightfast (archival). They are ideal for exercises and art projects that will be scanned, but are not recommended for originals that will be exposed to sunlight or sold.
- The paints are certified as AP (Approved Product) by ACMI (The Art and Creative Materials Institute) in the United States. This certification guarantees that the product has undergone toxicological testing and does not contain materials in quantities sufficient to be toxic or harmful to people, including children.

The amount of the courier service is calculated automatically by the system upon completion of an order.
A minimal difference in the amount of the courier service upon receipt of the package is possible due to discrepancies in the total weight of the package calculated by the system and the weight measured by the courier company.
