PB15 (Pigment Blue 15), with product code 4352, is a synthetic organic pigment with a phthalocyanine structure.
It is characterized by high tinting strength, very fine particle size, and excellent transparency. It has an intense blue color that, when diluted or mixed with white, retains its purity and brightness without taking on any grayish tones.

Lightfastness: Excellent (grade 8 out of 8 on the blue wool standard scale*). The pigment does not fade or change color when exposed to sunlight for extended periods.
Weather resistance: Extremely high.
Heat resistance: High stability at temperatures up to 200°C.
Chemical stability: Completely resistant to acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. Does not react with acrylics, oils, lime, or cement.
Dispersibility: Due to its organic origin and fine particle structure, the pigment is highly hydrophobic (water-repellent). When preparing water-based paints, it requires more prolonged mechanical stirring or the use of surfactants (wetting agents) to ensure complete dispersion.
Due to its chemical neutrality, the pigment is compatible with all known binding agents (mediums):
Painting (Oil, Acrylic, Tempera, Watercolor): Phthalocyanine blue is a primary pigment in the modern palette. Due to its high transparency, it is popular for glazing (velature and glazes) and creating depth. It has high tinting strength—even a minimal amount of the pigment is sufficient to change the color of the mixture.
Color Mixing: As a pure blue pigment, PB15 is indispensable for achieving pure green shades (when mixed with yellow) and pure purple tones (when mixed with magenta/red), without the resulting colors appearing dull or muddy.
Epoxy resins and plastics: It produces beautiful, transparent shades of blue in thin layers of resin, and at higher concentrations, it produces a rich, deep color.
Construction and Restoration: Due to its complete alkali resistance, it can be used to color plasters, cement, and lime mixtures intended for both exterior and interior use.
Specifics of the job:
Unlike heavy mineral pigments (such as iron oxides), PB15 is an extremely light and highly dusty powder. Due to its high intensity, the pigment easily stains work surfaces and tools, which requires precision when measuring it out.
*Note regarding lightfastness: The Blue Wool Scale is the international laboratory standard for measuring the lightfastness of dyes. It consists of 8 grades, with Grade 1 indicating minimal resistance and Grade 8 indicating maximum resistance to UV rays and complete protection against fading over time.
