Van Gogh’s No. 6 flat brush with a reservoir holds up to 9 ml of water and features a thin tuft of flexible nylon bristles.
It is indispensable for outdoor painting, sketches made on the go, and spontaneous plein air sessions, for adding watercolor details, and for conveniently carrying water-soluble media such as paints, pencils, graphite sticks, pastels, markers, and ink on small drawings.
This practical water brush is filled directly into the expandable, transparent, soft-plastic refill case; squeezing the case controls the amount of water that comes out of the flexible tip.
The small water reservoir also allows you to fill it with watercolor ink or another liquid dye to create a versatile brush marker for calligraphy (hand lettering) or painting with gradient effects, for example.
When used with alcohol, the brush also becomes an exciting tool for painting with alcohol-based inks and markers.
Clean it by squeezing out enough water through the tip and letting it air dry until the last drop is gone. It is recommended to leave it empty and disassembled until the next time you draw.
