Williamsburg Beeswax Medium is an additive for oil painting and has a simple composition of bleached beeswax, dammar resin, and refined linseed oil; it contains no paraffin, microcrystals, or solvents.
It has a soft, paste-like consistency that quickly melts to a nearly liquid state under the pressure of the spatula.
How it works:
- In small quantities (10–20%), it makes the paints more transparent and gives them a thinner consistency. This makes it a safe alternative to solvents for thinning paints.
- At a higher ratio, it increases the amount of paint, with a consistency suitable for impasto techniques.
- It gives a semi-matte, velvety sheen.
- Since it makes oil paints oilier and softer, it slows down their drying time . More generous amounts of the medium are applied to the surface layers of the painting, following the basic principle of “oily over lean.”
- The more wax paste we add, the more yellowing of the colors we can expect over time. This effect is less noticeable with warm colors.
- It can be mixed with other oils or alkyd additives to achieve different results.
- A layer as thick as a sheet of printer paper takes 4–7 days to dry.

Orders for an amount over BGN 100 have free delivery to the address or office of the courier.
For orders worth less than BGN 100, the cost of the courier service is at the buyer’s expense and is determined depending on:
- The selected courier company Speedy AD or Econt Express
- Delivery method (To office or to address)
- The weight and volume of the shipment
The amount of the courier service is calculated automatically by the system upon completion of an order.
A minimal difference in the amount of the courier service upon receipt of the package is possible due to discrepancies in the total weight of the package calculated by the system and the weight measured by the courier company.

Return of goods
- Return of goods for a full refund is accepted within 14 days, subject to the conditions specified in the Consumer Protection Act
