Pyrography is a fascinating technique for hand engraving by burning, which can be used to create drawings, decorate souvenirs made of wood or leather, and embellish woodcarvings.

The Rosa amateur pyrography kit includes:

• a pyrograph with a heat-insulated handle for safe engraving and adjustable temperature settings

Before we begin:

• It is recommended to paint in a well-lit and well-ventilated area
• The work surface must be cleared of all flammable objects
• Before attempting your first real drawing, it’s a good idea to practice drawing with the tool on the back of the panel or on a separate piece of paper to get your hand used to it.

Directions for Use:

• The pyrograph is suitable for lighter and softer wood
• Hold the pyrograph like a pen
• Start with the outer contours
• Straight lines are drawn with quick, light strokes, without applying pressure.
• To draw a thicker line, slow down the movement of your hand
• For symmetrical points and curved lines, the tip is positioned perpendicular to the plane
• Work without applying too much pressure or moving too slowly
• When drawing several lines next to each other, wait a moment, because the wood between the lines heats up and may catch fire
• As the temperature is adjusted, a trail of varying intensity is produced —ranging from light to dark brown for highlights and shadows
• The stroke can also be adjusted by changing the angle or pressure of the various tips
• The finished painting is sanded smooth and can be highlighted with paint, varnish, or stain.

Safety Instructions:

• Let the pyrograph heat up on the small stand
• Do not leave it turned on and unattended
• The heat should be checked only by testing it on the wood, never with your hand.
• The tips should only be replaced after the appliance has been turned off
• Keep the powered-on pyrograph at a safe distance from your body, clothing, and hair
• During operation, the cable should hang loosely without being stretched, bent, twisted, or coming into contact with the hot nozzle.
