Gold foil, often referred to as hot-stamping foil or foil stamping, can be used with any adhesive base— C200 PVA glue, all-purpose adhesives, and even double-sided tape —all of which create an instant, dazzling effect.
The foil has two sides that look very similar. The outer side of the roll consists of a carrier layer resembling transparent cellophane, while the underside is coated with a metallic layer. When rubbed between the fingers, the metallic layer usually releases tiny specks of pigment.
Place the film onto the adhesive surface with the metallic-coated side facing down, and wait for the drying time specified on the adhesive. It can also be left on for a longer period of time without affecting the foil’s performance.
After the adhesive layer has dried, the transparent backing layer is slowly peeled off.
Suitable for gilding both large, flat surfaces such as walls, cabinet doors, tables, as well as small items such as nails or lettering on scrapbook covers, wooden cabinets, and handmade cards and invitations.
Slanchogled sells hot-stamping foil in small 1-meter packages and in 120-meter rolls.
